Verdict

A small field for this Listed contest, but a mix of older horses clashing with either improving handicappers or more talented younger Group performers. Gordon Lord Byron repelled the challenge of the young protagonist when seeing off the filly ONLY MINE in the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes over C&D last month. However, he's been beaten since (admittedly over 7F) whilst the Carroll trained filly narrowly failed to reel in Penny Pepper in a C&D Group 3 contest three weeks ago. She is better off at the weights today so can be fancied to extract her revenge, with the once classy Moviesta and the returning Herald The Dawn expected to be stronger in future races.
