Maundy Thursday Evening Meeting 17th April Handicap Hurdle

Landed a Dundalk AW Flat claimer on final run for previous stable and has continued in fine form over hurdles for new yard, winning handicaps at Wincanton in January and Stratford (18.5f) 15 days ago. 5 lb rise demands more but merits respect in his current mood.

Fair hurdle winner in France but comfortably held in handicap hurdles at Sandown and Newbury since joining Nicky Henderson. The cheekpieces he wore on his final start in France return now.

Steady improvement when finishing third in 3 maiden/novice hurdles. An SP of 5/4 suggests he was strongly fancied to make a winning start to his handicap career at Sandown in January but he finished a remote fifth. It'll be interesting to see whether his supporters' return.

Fair performer who was suited by the emphasis on speed when gaining a second career success in 9-runner C&D handicap (good) in December. Big player if returning from a 103-day break in similar form.

Smooth traveller who struck twice at Newton Abbot at the start of last summer. Running respectably when last seen in the autumn but got to be a chance he'll need this after over 5 months off.

Dual hurdles winner last season (both when making the running) and back to that sort of form when runner-up over 2m at Lingfield (soft/heavy) on his last 2 outings. Obvious claims, particularly if first-time cheekpieces give him just a little extra.
