Fair form in winning her first 2 starts over hurdles last season and took advantage of a weak race to open her account over fences in a 5-runner novice at Warwick (2½m heavy) in March. Wasn't disgraced at Uttoxeter next time but looks vulnerable under top-weight back from a break here.

Benefited from a pace collapse when scoring at Wetherby (24.2f, heavy) last November and almost followed up at Newcastle next time. Very little to shout about thereafter but makes debut for new yard on a potentially handy mark and it'll be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour.

Placed sole run between the flags and bettered previous hurdles form by some way when third in a 14-runner novice at Ffos Las (2¾m, good to soft) on latest start in May. May well be seen in a better light now switched to fences for this handicap debut, so he's one to be interested in.

Off the mark at second attempt in Irish points and made the frame on each of his first 4 starts over hurdles. Rather disappointing the last twice, albeit last month's reappearance spin/handicap bow at Worcester was probably needed and he's another that could be more of a force in this sphere.

Very lightly-raced for an 8-y-o and has found just one too good on his last 2 completed starts over hurdles, including when clear of the rest in a 2½m Worcester maiden (soft) last time. The winner of that race looks useful and he's of major interest now upped in trip for this chase/handicap debut.

Opened chase account in first-time cheekpieces when landing 9-runner handicap at Bangor (3m, good) in July. Latest third at Warwick was a creditable effort, too, but one suspects that a few of these will prove to be better treated.

Firmly back in form with cheekpieces fitted in recent months, belatedly adding to maiden hurdle success back in January 2023 when landing a 3¼m Warwick handicap on penultimate start. Pulled up on chase debut last September but he's open to improvement in this sphere.

Scored at Wetherby in 2021 for Tom George but hasn't hit the target since and little impact in 5 starts for this yard, including tried in cheekpieces and a visor respectively the last twice. Cheekpieces back on here.

Scored twice at up to 3m last summer for Gordon Elliott and shaped as if retaining all of his ability when placed first 2 starts for new yard during the summer. However, he needs to bounce back following a poor showing at Worcester on latest start in July (since undergone a wind op).

Fair hurdler/chaser who has won 2 of his 3 completed starts following a wind op last season. Remains on a feasible mark and he could have a big part to play if fully tuned-up back from a 6-month break.

Point winner who, following a brief stint over hurdles, was much-improved switched to fences last season, winning 4 of his 9 starts in that sphere. Marathon trip (30.6f) was perhaps a bridge too far at Perth when last seen in April and leading claims back down in trip here.

Found improvement dropped in trip fitted with first-time cheekpieces when second of 11 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, soft) in April. Heavy defeat a fortnight later and form has a patchy look to it ahead of this return/chase debut.

Enjoyed a good time of it last winter, bagging 4 handicap hurdles at up to 25.5f. However, signed off 2023/24 campaign with a couple of rather disappointing efforts (particularly his latest at Haydock where he was beaten a long way) and needs to get back on track now switched to fences.

Completed a hat-trick in handicap chases early-2023 and positive start to last season when runner-up in handicaps at Ffos Las and Chepstow. However, form subsequently nosedived and she now finds herself with a bit to prove.

Forecasts

Hill Of Tara (9/2), Chancycourt (5/1), East Street (5/1), Ultra Beat (8/1), Exmoor Forest (9/1), On The Platform (10/1), Breeze Of Wind (12/1), New Order (12/1), Brook Bay (12/1), Stans The Man (12/1), King Of Brazil (14/1), Monbari (14/1), Anti Bridgie (16/1), Walking The Walk (20/1), Lazy Sunday (50/1), Oscar Robertson (66/1)

Verdict

The suggestion is CHANCYCOURT, who makes his chase debut off what looks a very fair mark judged on last month's second in a maiden hurdle at Worcester where he followed home a nice prospect in Potters Charm (winner again at Cheltenham recently), in turn pulling clear of the rest. He was placed in a couple of points in 2021 and looks a chasing type. Breeze of Wind is feared most ahead of King of Brazil, while Brook Bay, East Street and Ultra Beat are others to consider.
