Progressive form, easily winning a 5f Ripon maiden in May. Off since. A good chunk of improvement will be needed for him to give weight away all round here.

Held back by inexperience on first 2 starts but knew a lot more third time up, comfortably seeing off 7 rivals in a 5.7f Bath maiden (firm) 26 days ago. May do better still.

Improved effort when narrowly denied in 6f York nursery last weekend but he'll require another to get heavily involved here.

Mehmas colt won a 6-runner-race on his 5f Chepstow debut (heavy) in May. Excellent 3¼ lengths fifth of 27 to Ain't Nobody in Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot (5f, firm) 5 weeks later, faring second best of those who raced far side. Much respected for yard which won this in 2022.

Looked potentially useful when making a winning start to his career over 6f at Salisbury (good to firm) last month, although the fact he only led towards the finish raises doubts as to whether he'll prove as effective at 5f.

Winner of 10-runner Doncaster maiden (5f, firm) in May but disappointing at Redcar last month. Others are much more obvious.

Third on 6f course debut and bounced back from a lesser run at Leicester when filling the same position at Goodwood (6f again) 5 weeks ago. His trainer has tasted success in this but this one is likely competing for minor money at best.

Raced at 5f, winning a Wolverhampton maiden (AW) and Salisbury novice (good) in May. The form of those wins isn't anything special but her stable's excellent record in this race over the years makes her a dangerous one to discount.

Sands of Mali filly who made a promising winning start to her career over 6f at Kempton 24 days ago. Whether she has 5f speed remains to be seen but she's a nice prospect.

Placed twice at Beverley before winning a 5f Carlisle maiden (good to soft) at the end of May. Unable to make an impact in a Chantilly Group 3 since but still an interesting runner here off a featherweight.

Verdict

Recent Sandown listed runner-up IT AIN'T TWO looks the clear pick of the weights and can land this valuable prize under Oisin Murphy. Archie Watson tasted success in this in 2022 and has another likely contender in the shape of Vingegaard, who ran well in the Windsor Castle on only his second start. Karl Burke pair Kaadi, who like the selection has placed form at listed level, and Larchill Lass complete the shortlist.
