Solid profile so far and may steady progress with each run. Doing her best work near the finish over 5f here last time, creating the impression she's better suited by stepping back up to this trip. One to bear in mind.

Won a Novice auction at Hamilton in June (5f, good to firm) but has been regressive and finished in front of a single rival in two starts since. Has also won over the minimum trip here but a bit to prove from here current mark.

Mixed form so far but proved he has what it takes to win a race when emerging victorious in Novice auction at Hamilton in July. Form in nurseries has been very modest though. Needs to banish the memory of a poor run at Catterick last month.

Been highly tried but not achieved much so far. Well held at Pontefract last time out and difficult to recommend on the face value of that piece of form.

Best effort when second in a Novice auction on the turf course at Lingfield but not been anywhere near the same level in two starts in nurseries since. Hard to recommend after a moderate display at Nottingham last month; despite being 3lb lower.

Won a Novice stakes at Catterick at the start of June before finishing last in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot three weeks later. Wasn't disgraced on his handicap debut afterward but needs to improve dramatically a poor effort in his latest start.

Has experience of this C&D but has been expensive to follow so far (been a well-backed favourite twice but came up short of the mark both times). First-time blinkers may help sharpen his starting procedure but has a wide draw to contend with here.

Handicap debut after three modest starts so far. Big improvement required judging by the levels he's achieved up to now.

Cost €140,000 as a yearling, the Havan Gold colt has made steady progress and not harshly punished for this nursery debut. Finished just ahead of Cognac Blue at Catterick last time but was still well held. Improvement needed and wide draw not ideal.

Represents a top yard and seems versatile regarding his ground preference. Has form to reverse with Havana Ooh Na Na and may have to settle for a minor role on this AW/handicap debut

Has AW winners over this trip in her pedigree and likely to be suited by this step up to 6f; handily drawn here and likely to go well. From a yard noted for improving horses stepping into handicaps and very dangerous to underestimate.

By the ultra-tough Milk It Mick and out of a prolific AW winner, the gelding appeals on pedigree for an AW campaign. However, he's yet to live up to that profile and has been dropped 2lb after making an inauspicious start to his handicap career.

Not finished in front of many rivals in three previous starts and hard to get enthusiastic about the switch to handicaps. Hard to see her making an impact on the evidence in the form book - especially from her wide draw.

Verdict

Not the strongest nursery of the day but one the presents BE LIKE ME with a good chance to boost the theory about siding with the topweight in races of this nature. The filly has AW winners in her pedigree and seemed to like this surface when running on strongly near the finish of her latest start. The step up in trip can bring further improvement. Fellow handicap debutante, On Route, also appeals as one to bear in mind if the market speaks in her favour, while Beleaguerment has the ability to go close if the first-time blinkers help him overcome a disadvantageous wide draw.
