Faces a very stiff task here and likely to retain his maiden status after looking a real rogue last time out in a Market Rasen handicap (refused at the sixth). Not one to rely on and impossible to fancy at these weights.
Could be called useful on the Flat and over hurdles and makes his chasing debut here for a yard that do well with their novice chasers. Dual hurdles winner and if he takes to this it's not hard to see him going close in this sphere.

Has won in point-to-points but his four Rules outings spread over seven years hardly inspire and he can only be watched for now.

Interesting chase debutante who has shown some useful form over hurdles with the highlight being his Class 2 handicap win at Cheltenham off a mark of 134. This trip should suit ideally and he's respected starting out over fences.

Jumping has proved his Achilles heel in the past over fences and this could prove a test of that part of his game again. Came back from a fair absence when winning over hurdles here last time so is in good heart but those jumping frailties are a worry.

Despite winning over hurdles he never looks a particularly easy ride and after winning in good style on his penultimate outing he rather reverted to type last time. Hard to know what his sort will make of fences as he has a belated first try over them.

Useful hurdler who ran in some of the better contested handicap hurdles last year and showed up well on his recent return at Newton Abbot (given a lot to do). Rather a surprise to see him come here to make his chasing debut when other hurdles targets still to aim at.

Has won over hurdles in 0-100 company and plenty of these have form in warmer company in that sphere. Let down by her jumping on her chase debut last month in strongly run race and faces a stiff task in this.

Forecasts

Wait For Me (8/11), Duke Street (4/1), Mile House (6/1), Matorico (7/1), Oscarteea (8/1), Midnight Gypsy (50/1), Blazing Glen (100/1), Fernando (100/1)

Verdict

Some decent hurdlers make their chasing debuts here in what is a good race for the time of the year and Duke Street and Matorico will at least keep WAIT FOR ME honest as he looks the best of that crew based on his hurdling form and this strong traveller is expected to fare well on his chasing debut. Most of the others look rather up against things with various negative points against them such as attitude in the case of Oscarteea and jumping alacrity with Mile House.
  1. Wait For Me
  2. Duke Street
  3. Matorico
