Has ability, but also his quirks, and threw away a winning opportunity at Worcester last time by idling badly on the run in. Short run for home after the last here will help, but up another 4lb for that and not one for maximum faith in.

Useful if frustrating type for NIcky Henderson, but form for new yard has taken a major turn for the worse and he barely picked a leg up last time. Others make far more appeal at present.

Has ability but is doing a good job of hiding it at present, although she ran a little better than her finishing position suggests at Fontwell last time. Back over hurdles here, and is C&D winner, so could bounce back, but clearly comes with risks.

Was in great form last season and rattled off a few wins in novice company, but has found life hard going this year and recent efforts, under conditions that should have suited, have left plenty to be desired. Well handicapped so hard to rule out.

Was on a roll in handicap chases when last seen out but that was over a year ago now. On the plus side, has won after an absence before, so could go well, trip and likely ground fine and on a fair mark. Can't be discounted.

Is a bit hit-and miss but looked on the way back with a better effort over this C&D last time out, and Noel Fehily takes over from an amateur. Tight left-hand tracks suit and lurks on a very dangerous mark, so has to be taken seriously.

In good form in the spring, winning back-to-back handicaps and has gone well on the Flat too, but a disappointing effort when last seen and needs to bounce back from that. Down in grade though, and good jockey booking, so has that going for him.

Old boy that wins in his turn, and it came around again over C&D last time out, getting the better of Kublai a neck. 4lb rise is fair, but this just looks a bit tougher, so may need more. Others preferred.

Forecasts

Free Stone Hill (11/8), Collodi (3/1), Tamarillo Grove (5/1), Londonia (15/2), Quadriller (12/1), Ivor's Queen (14/1), Excellent Team (14/1), Baratineur (50/1)

Verdict

There is no guaranteed pacemaker here and this could be falsely run. A chance is taken on COLLODI bouncing back to his best form at a track he clearly goes well at, and he will be inconvenienced less by a slow pace than a few here. Free Stone Hill has his chance again but his behaviour is starting to come under question. Money for Quadriller would make him of some interest too.
  1. Collodi
