Not the most consistent and seems to need good ground to show his best (has had breathing issues in the past) but took a small step back in the right direction at Bangor latest, not beaten far. Likely conditions fine and not ruled out.

Not seen out since April when hammering Thegeegeezgeegee (winner since) at Chepstow but yard going well and he has gone okay fresh before. Only had the four chase starts so likely to progress, and with likely conditions ideal, can go close.

Ashcott Boy9
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: David Noonan| T: N P Mulholland| OR:  119
14/1
Needs quick ground to show his best, so will appreciate drying conditions, and back on a winning mark after a series of moderate efforts. Yard having winners and no surprise if he bounced back here, although this trip as far as he wants to go.

Might have gone even closer to winning last time but for finding trouble in running at a key point, chances if building on that but he's an infrequent winner these days and others are preferred for win purposes.

Beau Bayh14
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-10| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: Dr R D P Newland| OR:  117
7/4
Only moderate over hurdles but already looks like making a better chaser judged on his Perth demolition job last time out. Handicapper gives him a shove up the weights for that and faces quicker conditions here, but surely has more to come.

Innocent Girlh,t11
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-8| J: Kieron Edgar(3)| T: H Fry| OR:  115| BF
4/1
Mixes chasing with hurdling, often hits the frame but tends to find less than likely when the chips are really down. On a new high mark here and this will be as far as she's been trip-wise, so has new questions to answer.

Age: 10|  Weight: 11-8| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  115
10/1
On the plus side, is coming back down to a very attractive-looking mark and the yard had a welcome winner this week, but in truth he's proving hard to win with, and another change of headgear tried today. Others preferred.
8
Horse silk
While You Wait30
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-0| J: Lucy Gardner(3)| T: Mrs S Gardner| OR:  107
16/1
Handicap hurdle winner at Towcester earlier in the season and seems to act well on quick ground, but didn't pull up any trees on chasing debut at Stratford and is best watched today.

Forecasts

Beau Bay (7/4), Innocent Girl (4/1), Double Treasure (5/1), Foundation Man (8/1), No Likey (10/1), Theatre Mill (11/1), Ashcott Boy (14/1), While You Wait (16/1)

Verdict

Not an easy contest to solve. Beau Bay looks the obvious one after an easy win at Perth but this might not be run to suit his hold-up style and a chance is taken that DOUBLE TREASURE is ready to go after a break. He too looked a horse of some potential over fences when thrashing a field at Chepstow on his fourth chase start and with the yard going well, can go close here. Ashcott Boy might be the one to take them along and if allowed to dominate. could be hard to peg back.
  1. Double Treasure
  2. Beau Bay
  3. Ashcott Boy
