Ended long winless streak on return to action with taking Group 3 success over 7f at Leopardstown 16 days ago. Of plenty interest here if in same mood but strike rate of 3/31 isn't inspiring. Yard are in good form.

Won his final two starts of 2016, at this track and one over C&D, before running nice races in two starts this year and landed Listed Navan contest (7f, good to yielding) latest. Respected on that form.

Listed winner over a mile at Leopardstown (good to firm) last summer, has only run twice since and was tame here over 1m2f (soft to heavy) on reappearance last month also in Listed company. Should get slightly better surface to work with this time.

Brought some interesting form from his native South Africa, was never a factor on Irish debut over 5f at Cork (good to firm) last month. This trip much more like it and should improve on that opening gambit.

Won a C&D handicap off a mark of 101 last time out, has a strike-rate close to 29% and cannot be written off from adding to it here on the back of that run.

Back-to-back wins here and at Down Royal last month (both over 1m2f) ensure she comes to this in excellent heart. May be found wanting for a bit of speed back down at the mile now with all previous wins over at least 1m2f.

Second contender for the yard in this line-up and most interesting. Maiden winner over 7f here last June and went down a neck behind Churchill in Leopardstown Group 3 over 7f (good to firm) on only other start at two. Must defy long layoff but well worth a market check.

Going the right way this season have landed pair of 7f handicaps at Doncaster and Haydock last month on testing ground both times. Will need to step up on that form but noted that British trainer comes here for a go at Listed contest.

Limerick maiden winner in April over 7f (good), respectable effort at Royal Ascot in the Jersey Stakes behind Le Brivido last week. First time tackling a mile but worthy of a place in this line-up if race doesn't come a bit quickly.

Forecasts

Sea Wolf (2/1), Alexios Komnenos (4/1), Flight Risk (4/1), True Valour (6/1), Mjjack (10/1), Texas Rock (12/1), Dragon Fei (14/1), Foxtrot Charlie (33/1), Misty Birnam (33/1)

Verdict

Flight Risk was a Group 3 winner last time out on seasonal bow and must be respected on that showing, but his overall profile means he can be bypassed for win purposes at the likely prices. Sea Wolf scored over C&D last time and, conversely, has a terrific strike-rate so is not to be overlooked quickly. Dragon Fei has been in super form but may find the trip sharp enough while British raider Mjjack could improve and have a say. Both runners from the Stack yard are intriguing. Misty Birnam shouldn't be harshly judged on his Irish debut over an inadequate trip at Cork and the ex-Mike De Kock inmate could leave behind but stablemate ALEXIOS KOMNENOS gets the nod here. A maiden winner first time out last summer, he then ran Churchill to a neck in a Group 3 contest at Leopardstown, form that stands out in this context. If he's ready to roll, he looks the one to beat.
  1. Alexios Komnenos
  2. Sea Wolf
  3. Flight Risk
