Breaking It Down: Murt Khan’s horse racing tips for Wednesday, including Royal Ascot

Owner and professional punter Murt Khan has a selection at Ascot and a strong fancy at Uttoxeter for the Skelton team.

Recommended bets: Breaking It Down

3pts win Petrou in 4.05 Uttoxeter at 6/5 - makes his public debut over fences today but has looked an accomplished jumper at Southwell which bodes particularly well

1pt win Dream Castle in 2.30 Ascot at 4/1 - seven furlongs may well prove his ideal trip

DREAM CASTLE is a horse who possesses a lot of class and flair.  He should get a nice toe into the race today and this seven-furlong trip on quick ground should be right up his street. I think he should go very close.

It's hard to get away from PETROU today in what looks a modest handicap chase.  He's running off a 7lb lower mark in comparison to his latest hurdle win.  He jumped a tad sketchily  last time at Aintree and did well to get up late to beat Tyrell's Secret.

What enthuses me today in his switch to chasing is how he jumps the mini-fences at Southwell. He has a much better technique over those obstacles in comparison to conventional hurdles, which bodes well for his debut over fences today. Yes, it's his third run in a week but he is thrown in and I expect him to win.

Fair To Middling represents the in form Peter Bowen yard. He has won after a break in the past and is respected if he takes to fencing.

Zolfo looks a proper chasing type but he does clout the odd fence. He will be winning races but will need to be foot perfect today to beat PETROU.

River Intrigue and Very Extravagant both need to bounce back to form after a few below par efforts.
