Kyren Wilson booked his place in the final of the Champion of Champions tournament against Ronnie O'Sullivan after edging out Mark Allen 6-5 at the Ricoh Arena.
There was little to chose between each player during the opening six frames, as Allen, the world number seven and winner at the International Championship in China last week, levelled the match at 3-3 following a break of 109.
Wilson, ranked nine in the world, then produced a run of 66 followed by a century of his own with 125 to move 5-3 in front.
Northern Irishman Allen then battled back once more to level with two half-century breaks.
Wilson, though, took the decider with a clearance of 89 following a snooker to book his place in Sunday's final against the five-time world champion.
