Ronnie O'Sullivan is the warm favourite to win the newly-formed event which follows hot on the heels of the Players Championship which took place in Preston only a couple of weeks ago.
O'Sullivan was to prove victorious there, beating Neil Robertson 10-4 in a one-sidd final which he closed out by reaching 1000 career centuries with a fabulous break of 134.
This event will feature the top eight current players in the world with the likes of Judd Trump, Mark Selby and Neil Roberston all in the hunt for a first prize of £150,000.
