John Higgins maintained his impressive form as he defeated Anthony McGill 4-2 to reach the quarter-finals of snooker's Romanian Masters in Bucharest.
Higgins bounced back with breaks of 82 and 94 after losing the opening frame and although McGill hit back with one of 85, the recent Welsh Open winner took the next two.
It’s Higgins' fourth consecutive victory over McGill this season and they also meet again at next week’s Players Championship in Llandudno (click here for full draw).
He will now face a quarter-final with another in-form player, Ryan Day.
The Welshman won his second ranking event at the Gibraltar Open on Sunday and kept his winning run going with a 4-2 win over Barry Hawkins.
Judd Trump cruised into the quarter-finals as he fired breaks of 101, 118, 57 and 52 in a 4-0 win over Luca Brecel and he'll next meet Kyren Wilson, who defied Mark Allen's break of 130 to win 4-2.
The quarter-finals taking place on Friday, with the semis and final will be played out over the weekend.
