John Higgins found his stride quickly on Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Alexander Ursenbacher at the Yushan World Open.
The four-time World Champion took just over an hour to complete Tuesday's win in China after he made breaks of 95, 86 and 75 along the way.
Higgins remarked: "I played pretty well, but I don’t think Alexander settled. He has been playing some good stuff in the qualifiers, but I think the final stages of events are a new experience for him.
"When you have a little bit of form that is what happens sometimes. The other guy doesn’t play so well and you just have to go with it.
"There are times when you can be struggling and the game seems very hard so you have to capitalise on your good form. I could probably have had three or four centuries today."

World number one Mark Selby crashed out when the reigning world champion was beaten 5-2 by Lee Walker, giving the Welshman his first win in the final stages of an event this season.
Walker told World Snooker: "He didn't play his best today, but when he does not many people can beat him so I'm over the moon.
"I obviously felt pressure at the end because it is a great win. However, you can settle a bit because nobody expects you to win."
Meanwhile, in another major upset former world champion Shaun Murphy was beaten 5-2 by Daniel Wells.
Murphy revealed he had been struggling with a neck injury sustained during travel from the Indian Open last week.
He said: "I was in real pain throughout the match. In one way I'm relieved the match is over, but I don't want to take anything away from Daniel."
Li Hang came from behind to record a shock 5-4 win over compatriot Liang Wengbo having trailed 4-3 but played some tremendous snooker to force himself over the line while Stephen Maguire overcame 1997 World Champion Ken Doherty 5-2 to progress.
Joe Perry came through a final frame decider to edge out Yu Delu 5-4 after the match had gone to the final frame. Perry got himself over the line after compiling a steely run of 84.
