Verdict

BELTANE failed to get his head in front last year but he posted several creditable efforts in defeat, including when third at Musselburgh on his final run of that campaign, and Mark Walford's charge is taken to make a winning start to this season. Darbucks was foiled in his hat-trick bid when last seen in November but he didn't do much wrong that day and will be a threat if fully tuned-up. Coconut Bay may well reverse recent Musselburgh placings with Doomsday and she is best of the rest.
