He shaped better then the distance beaten at Cartmel last month and his subsequent effort on the Flat was pretty encouraging, too. Pilgrims King came up short when bidding for the hat-trick at Ffos Las, but he lost little caste in defeat and is feared most with this stiffer test likely to bring about some improvement. Recent Bangor winner Finisk River and Shaws Bridge are others to consider.
