Verdict

A few bang in-form contenders to consider in this opening contest, none more so than Sambuca Spirit who goes in search of the hat-trick after recording a double within a week last month. His 5lb higher mark demands more, but a bold bid is expected off top-weight. The unexposed Grandma and she was fifth in a race of similar strength over C&D recently, after showing ability on handicap debut the time before, so must be considered as should Montalvan. However, LYONS LANE is taken to reverse her Thirsk form with Sambuca Spirit. She has improved since to shed her maiden tag and looked one to follow in this grade when a three-length winner on that occasion.
  1. Lyons Lane
  2. Sambucca Spirit
  3. Grandma
