Verdict

A fascinating renewal with several progressive stayers lining up, most can be given a chance. Roger Charlton trained last year’s winner and he has a fair chance of landing the spoils again via True Destiny who still looks to be on the up after his Kempton return. Typically Mark Johnston fields a strong team in a staying event his pair Themaxwecan and Rochester House both coming here on the back of sound Royal Ascot efforts, neither can be ruled out. SELINO was no match for the winner over 1m6f at Royal Ascot but ran a fine second (Themaxwecan, fourth), a step back to 2m will see him in an even better light. Carnwennan and Reshoun also deserve to be noted in an ultra-competitive heat.
  1. Selino
  2. Carnwennan
  3. True Destiny
