Verdict

THE BROGHIE MAN can finally get off the mark for connections at the seventh time of asking. The gallant gelding has finished runner-up on his last three starts in big-runner maidens, two of them producing future winners. There will be still a good number in opposition here including, the Gavin Cromwell-trained Bentham, well backed last time out on return to action at Limerick, only to be beaten 2L in the 16-runner race. Belfast Banter representing trainer Peter Fahey can emerge as a big danger, along with Arthur Fonzarelli for trainer Henry De Bromhead, who likes a winner here in the month of July.
  1. The Broghie Man
  2. Bentham
  3. Arthur Fonzarelli
