Verdict

The 2020 Northumberland Plate features past Vase winners Cosmelli (2018) and Carnwennan (2019), while the record breaking Middleham-handler Mark Johnston is doubly-represented with King's Advice and Anyonecanhaveitall, the latter of whom could make a bold bid from the front. Stamina is an asset for the popular ante-post pick Smart Champion, while Wolverhampton foes Australis and Caravan Of Hope continue on upward curves. However, at appealing odds, we'll plump for the lightly-raced Tom Dascombe-trained RAJINSKY. He caught the eye when finishing a keeping on third to Laafy in a Class 2 handicap at Newbury (1m4f) earlier this month.
  1. Rajinsky
  2. Anyonecanhaveitall
  3. Smart Champion
