Verdict

The move to the Sam England stable certainly rejuvenated WELL SMITTEN who won well here over 2m3f last time looking as though he was back to his best. Raised 6lb for those exploits he’s still well handicapped on his old form and this longer trip should suit. Mr Mcgo deserves to win a race over fences but may find himself squeezed out again. Lake Takapuna takes a drop in class and may show more on his second start for the Ewart yard whilst Est Illic remains one to keep in mind over fences.
