Verdict

If the winner of this turns out to be as good as last year’s victor then connections will have very right to be pleased as Thomas Darby went on to finish second in the Supreme at the Festival. He two ex-French recruits are two that will attract interest with Fred looking to be favoured in the market on his first start for Nicky Henderson. However, the Nicholls newcomer CAP DU MATHAN might be the better play with the trainer having spoken in glowing terms about his charge. Master Debonair returns from a wind op but his bumper form can be questioned and it may well be that Getariver can show more in this sphere. Ship Of the Fen looks best of the newcomers having shown some decent Flat form.
  1. Cap Du Mathan
  2. Getariver
  3. Fred
