Snapdragon Fire was a useful hurdler for Tom Lacey, but he looked all at sea throughout when racing left-handed on his chasing debut at Southwell. His undoubted ability kept him competitive in that race, and the chances are that he'll be a totally different proposition on a right-handed track (won over hurdles at Huntingdon and Ludlow). However, a very marginal preference is for the Kempton regular
TIDAL WATCH for the O'Neill partnership. Unfortunate not to win at Newton Abbot (final fence fall), this five-year-old Harbour Watch gelding lost little in defeat to the galloping grey Theflyingportrait in the Scottish Borders at Kelso subsequently.
