Verdict

With conditions inching towards heavy, previous C&D scorer RETIREMENT BECKONS looks set to hold excellent claims, with his August success coming on testing ground. He has made the frame in two of three starts since, both on this sort of ground, and looks the solid option. Maiden Sienna Dream has also handled cut in the ground here and can improve to close the gap on Chaplin Bay, twice a winner here in August. Bea Ryan is another possible improver, though with the ground an unknown.
