Verdict

A race which can be quickly narrowed down to a few contenders who have genuine claims. After running his best race for some time when sixth in the Seaton Delaval Handicap at Newcastle last week, Glengarry is a major player. There is nothing of the class he came up against then in this race which should enable him to run very well. Tribal Warrior was a progressive sort as a three-year-old and improved for the switch to handicap company. It is interesting that he is sent this far North to make his seasonal reappearance, but we will take a chance on PEPYS who made giant strides as a handicapper last season. He can resume his progress with his 261-day absence not a worry.
  1. Pepys
  2. Tribal Warrior
  3. Glengarry
