Verdict

A race that Don McCain has a chance of winning for the second year running as his yard are in excellent form now. He fields Handy Hollow although he will have to defy a tough mark to follow up his Bangor win and it may well be that Fresh New Dawn the Huntingdon scorer after a wind op holds the greater danger to the likely market leader the unpenalised Southwell scorer DOVILS DATE who is bidding for a hat-trick and still looks well weighted on his old form. Both Du Destin and Gambling Gamut will have to jump better than of late to make their mark with the most interesting outsider being Linguine. He’s tumbled in the weights but has given notice a full-scale revival might not be far away.
