Verdict

A tough one to call and it's no easy task for LAKE VOLTA to give weight away at this stage of the season, but the gelding is a typically tough performer from a top yard and could be hard to resist if building on the bare form of his seasonal debut run. Whinmoor is on a stiff mark and will probably need the outing, so it might be down to Givinitsum to throw down the sternest challenge to the selection. The ex-South African gelding was overfaced on his British debut in the Doncaster Mile last time but can be expected to be fitter and wiser for the run. Support for Swift Approval would also be noteworthy.
  1. Lake Volta
  2. Whinmoor
  3. Swift Approval
