Paper Promise (1/2), Darling Du Large (7/4), See The Sea (5/1), Missesgeejay (20/1), Western Lass (28/1), Summer Lightening (33/1), Bermondsey Belle (50/1), Biddy Be (66/1)

Verdict

A particularly modest opener, in which only a couple of the runners can be considered as realistic winners. Paper Promise will handle the soft ground and is open to a degree of improvement over hurdles (in her grade). However, the standout form-based choice is the Tom George-trained DARLING DU LARGE who settled much better over obstacles at Exeter, and can become just a second ever jumps winner at Newcastle for today's rider Jonathan Burke.
  1. Darling Du Large
  2. Paper Promise
  3. Biddy Be
