Verdict

The smallest field for the Champion bumper since 17 went to post in 2000 but for all that this should still prove to be a fascinating race. Envoi Allen is the obvious starting point and he’ll be hard to beat with plenty of experience on his side but the horse that he conquered at Leopardstown METICULOUS will be better suited by a stronger gallop and could take his revenge. The fact that Willie Mullins relies on one contender and a four-year-old at that should be taken as a positive for Blue Sari. Sempo gives the trainer of the selection Joseph O’Brien a very valid second chance in the race with Mister Debonair and Ask For Glory the main GB players.
  1. Meticulous
  2. Blue Sari
  3. Envoi Allen
