Verdict

The J P McManus-trained HEARTS ARE TRUMPS can land the spoils here having been in consistent form in three starts since May, winning a Clonmel handicap hurdle off a 10lb lower mark before game runs in defeat at Galway and Clonmel. The solid and consistent, Ingleby Mackenzie and Star Maker for trainer/jockey combination, Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell appear to be the biggest dangers. Any market move for the out of sorts, Rock De Baune, should be monitored.
