Verdict

A number of the runners have a realistic winning chance including the Irish challenger Guiding Star who ran a solid race (staying on) on stable debut over C&D last month. The likes of Supaulette and Ghost have performed well on turf over a prolonged period of time, so shouldn't be dismissed lightly, nor should the well-treated Carlovian who holds every chance under Paula Muir if able to replicate the form of his Redcar third to Sir Derrick on Tapeta. However, it is the eased in grade top-weight DUKE COSIMO who is most tempting. A stiff test over 6f suits him very well, and his back catalogue of Newcastle form reads extremely well in this Class 6 company.
  1. Duke Cosimo
  2. Carlovian
  3. Guiding Star
