Verdict

The Willie Mullins-trained EXCHANGE RATE can continue his winning thread here in the opener on the second day of the Galway Festival. The Monsun gelding won a novice hurdle at Wexford last month in good style despite being hampered at the last and can land the spoils here at the expense of stablemate Pakora who won on hurdling debut at Cork in May in the face of some jumping mistakes some of which the filly won't get away with here. Canardier deserves respect in this as does the Jessica Harrington-trained Holding Pattern, the mount of Barry Geraghty.
