Verdict

Some progressive fillies on show in an intriguing contest. Two older horses at the top of the handicap may find the three-year-old runners, who have won the last two renewals, a bit too progressive. Awesometank sets a fair standard and improved out of sight last season with her trainer likely to have her primed for her seasonal reappearance. There was a lot to like about MESQUITE in her latest win and she looks well up to winning competitive handicaps like this with a lot of improvement still to come. Zest has to give weight away to the younger horses but will love a return to the AW and is very consistent.
