Verdict

Not all that many for the short-list, and with the returning Desert Frost set to carry a welter burden of 10st 7lb (less his riders 3lb claim), it'll probably pay to concentrate upon the three-year-old's. It is entirely plausible that Tanseeq might've just needed the race at Chelmsford last month and only minimal improvement will see him fighting out the finish with BOLD REASON. Although running without the blinkers that he wore when winning over the straight mile here in December, preference is for the John Gosden trained colt. Newcastle is a happy hunting ground for the Newmarket handler, and he can further enhance his 38% strike rate (19/50) tonight.
  1. Bold Reason
  2. Tanseeq
  3. Desert Frost
