Verdict

As usual this is a very tricky handicap to solve, not only because of the number of runners but also because many of these are having their first runs since the end of last year. Aussie Valentine has been second in this the past three years and there's nothing to suggest he won't run very well again, while Pincheck is also of interest after running well in a few very good handicaps last term. Preference, though, is for THIRD TIME LUCKY. He hasn't actually won a race on turf since the 2015 Cambridgeshire, but he looked in good form towards the end of last season, his trainer should have him ready to go and he's well-treated if somewhere near his best.
  1. Third Time Lucky
  2. Pincheck
  3. Aussie Valentine
