Verdict

A race which lacks strength in depth, and those horses allocated handicap marks look to have been given lofty perches for what they've actually achieved. Piton Pete has shown ability, but he'd surely struggle to be competitive off a mark of 125, so his trainer Oliver Sherwood looks to be rather limited in terms of finding winning opportunities; other than in this grade. Rock My Style has a few slight question marks to address, but probably boasts the pick of the form over hurdles so far. Therefore, a chance is taken on the hurdles debutante (point-to-point winner) SUNSET SHOWDOWN. This gelding was well found in the market ahead of his rules bumper debut at Chepstow in November, and thankfully for his new trainer, he doesn't lock horns with Good Boy Bobby here.
