Verdict

An open contest with several coming into this with a good chance on their best form although a test at the trip is what a few of them need. Vercingetorix is a hard one to trust and he often flatters to deceive although he is now back with a yard that knows how to handle him. Superior Command showed that he was in good form last time although he might just be better suited by another half mile and its Phil Kirby’s SUGGESTION who gets the vote. He ran well to take a Wetherby handicap earlier in the year and if fit and ready to go here could well take some beating off this mark. Wot A Shot and Strong Economy are two others with chances although the latter would prefer a stiffer trip. If there is one to keep an eye on in the market then it’s the Rose Dobbin trained California Soul making his debut for the yard having shown some decent form in Ireland.
