A trappy opener to the new National Hunt season at Carlisle, but a race which promises to offer a decent priced reward should we solve the puzzle. The early signs are that Rose Dobbin has her stock in good order, so Doncaster winner
Monfass is worthy of consideration despite being higher in the weights now whilst handicap debutant
Celtic Flames almost certainly needed his return from a lengthy absence at Kelso last month, and should show more at a more suitable level. However, the pair to concentrate upon are
Barry's Jack and
HARTSIDE. The former makes a surprise switch back to the smaller obstacles after a debut success over fences at Perth last month, but remains fairly solid overall, yet it is the Peter Winks trained charge that is the selection. He goes well over C&D, and is undeniably well treated, and the expectation is that his recent Sedgefield reappearance (which needs improving upon) should stand him in good stead for this winnable contest.
