Verdict

A tough race to get a handle on, there are a number of nicely-bred sorts that have scope to improve having shown nothing too exciting in their debut runs, and also some potentially smart newcomers to take them on. The O'Brien yards are responsible for five of the eight runners and Somerset Maugham looks the pick of the Ballydoyle trio, though he must improve on his debut showing at the Curragh. Newcomer Tamboureen may be the preferred option meanwhile from Joseph O'Brien's pair, though the market will prove the best yardstick in relation to stable companions. Theobald could go well for a yard that knows how to ready one but the nod goes to LUZUM, who has changed hands for good money and represents a top trainer on this debut run. The son of Epaulette may be up to making a winning start.
  1. Luzum
  2. Somerset Maugham
  3. Theobald
