Verdict

On the basis of a recent easy C&D victory, this should go to DAY OF ROSES, who improved massively to take that more competitive race with great ease. The 7lb penalty he carries could end up looking lenient by the end of this race, as long as he can prove that performance wasn't a fluke of some sort. Golden Investment is consistent, if hard to win with and may well end up finishing second yet again, while De Blacksmith would have needed the run last time but still does seem an appealing choice given he has to concede weight to the selection.
