Forecasts

Love Island (13/8), Fredricka (15/8), Jameerah (4/1), Palenville (9/2), Enjoy Life (5/1), New Road Side (11/2)

Verdict

A small field, but some likeable enough fillies in their own grade which should make for an interesting and informative contest. Love Island adores Ripon, and has raced in better races than this since winning there in August, and holds claims for a trainer who knows what it takes to produce winners on this surface. Both Fredricka and Palenville are with new or relatively new connections and are worth keeping an eye on for the future, but perhaps JAMEERAH is the horse for today. Soft ground on turf wasn't ideal for her at Thirsk last month, but she'll relish the switch back to synthetics, and a 4lb rise for her cosy October Chelmsford success is possibly a shade too lenient, so hopes must be high she can make it 4 from 8 on AW surfaces.
  1. Jameerah
  2. Love Island
  3. Palenville
