Verdict

Experience is so often the key in these early season juvenile events, with Black Orange finishing an excellent third in a division of Doncaster's Brocklesby Stakes on the opening day of the turf campaign. However, he is as 'green' as the others going round a bend (and on synthetics), so there's possibly some value in taking the Gay Kelleway trained juvenile on. Corinthia Knight looks an appealing sort for Ontoawinner and Archie Watson, but CROWNTHORPE is a speedy type on breeding who could prove suited by this sharp track, and Malton trainer Richard Fahey surely isn't sending him on the long journey South just for some valuable racecourse experience.
  1. Crownthorpe
  2. Black Orange
  3. Corinthia Knight
