Verdict

AUVERGNAT was still going well when coming to grief here in January and followed that up with a first win at Punchestown's banks course. The runner-up on that occasion was the selection's stablemate Cantlow who put a disappointing previous effort over this course behind him when winning here in December. The veteran Bless The Wings, who's trainer got off the mark for the meeting in the opening contest on the first day can follow up his placing of 2016 by finishing third this year.
