Verdict

Great, though rather surprising, that JP McManus throws in two of his best juveniles against each other and it could well decide which way DEFI DU SEUIL and Charli Parcs go in the future. As things stand, both of these ex-French geldings are exciting, progressive prospects and it will be interesting to see if retained rider Barry Geraghty has made the right choice with Charli Parcs who appears favoured in the early betting exchanges. Defi Du Seuil has the edge in experience (around this track) and that may well prove decisive especially based on his demolition job last time out. In truth it will be a surprise if any of the other four can split the McManus duo despite them all having some reasonable form. The Alan King charge should be noted, though, as he often likes to run one of his better juveniles in this race and Rainbow Dreamer may pick up some prize money, although ultimately he may well be more of a Fred Winter type. 1.
