Multiple point winner who opened Rules account in a soft-ground Kelso handicap chase last spring. Positive start to this season when placed back at Kelso and then Carlisle but form has dipped pretty badly since (pulled up in C&D contest won by Gibberwell last time) and now has a fair bit to prove.

Notched third success here when scoring over C&D (good to soft) in November. Followed that with a good third at Musselburgh but below par since (including back here in race won by Gibberwell last month) and yet to prove himself to be a 'spring horse' (all 4 career wins gained during autumn months).

Dual winning pointer who showed fair form in hunters for David Christie but hasn't fired switched to handicap chases on last 3 starts. Now tried in a visor.

Improved last spring, runner-up twice at Newcastle prior to opening her account over this C&D. Best effort of this season so far when third back here in race won by Gibberwell and entitled to have a say in first-time cheekpieces, provided she goes on the ground (largely campaigned on soft/heavy).

Successful over C&D last May (second win here) and left low-key reappearance behind when scoring at Musselburgh (23.6f, good to soft) in November. Didn't appear to stay 4m back at this course last time and each-way claims back down in trip off a fair mark and with the drying ground in his favour.

Opened chase account over C&D in 2023 and belatedly added to that when again netting a handicap here last month with several of these rivals behind. Looked better than ever that day but still opposable this time, now effectively 9 lb higher in the weights.

Would have a serious chance off this lowly mark if back to anything like his best but his efforts so far this season have lacked spark. Cheekpieces refitted.

Fortuitous winner at Newcastle on return (nearly 50 lengths down when left alone 2 out) but no element of luck associated with last month's back-to-back wins (latterly over this C&D). Combined 9 lb rise for that brace means that another personal best will be needed but he's clearly in good nick.

Sole success to date was gained here back in 2023 but, to his credit, he was runner-up 3 times on the bounce at around 2m between July and October last year. Should come on for last month's Newcastle reappearance and could have a say if his jumping/stamina passes the test (untried beyond 21f).

Maiden hurdler/chaser who was well beaten on recent debut for new yard over hurdles at Newcastle.

Continues to fall in the weights and while there were positives to take from his latest third in a 7-runner handicap chase at Newcastle (23.4f, good) on first start following a wind op, the fact that his losing run stretches back to 2019 is naturally a concern.

All 6 career wins have been registered here but he's now well into the veteran stage and hasn't looked the force of old so far this season.

Yet to win a race of any description following 20 attempts under Rules and she was again beaten a fair way when third at Doncaster last time. Others preferred.

It's been all downhill since his narrow breakthrough success at Newcastle in November 2023, again offering little in the C&D contest won by Gibberwell last month.

The vote goes to TOROSAY, who returned to form back here when third to Gibberwell last month and she now enjoys a handy pull at the weights with that rival, while the addition of cheekpieces could help eke out a bit more. Dr Shirocco makes each-way appeal with conditions in his favour, along with Kicksaftersix, who is interesting now faced with a stiffer test. Hat-trick seeker Halfway House Lad shouldn't be too far away and the selection's stablemate Return Fire would be a threat if on-song.
