£135,000 buy after finishing runner-up sole outing in Irish points. Much better when fourth of 16 in novice hurdle at Warwick (16f, soft, 80/1) 51 days ago. Up in trip for handicap debut and very much respected for top trainer/jockey combination.

Ran poorly on first start after breathing operation when ninth of 14 in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow (16f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Steps up in trip on second handicap outing and that needs to bring about some improvement.

Continued run of disappointing form when pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Fontwell (19.1f, good to soft) 99 days ago. New yard and probably best to look elsewhere.

In winning form in the spring and having just been edged out on return from a break, he duly resumed winning ways in 10-runner handicap at Exeter (18.5f, heavy) 36 days ago. Can go well again.

Has been brought along steadily, seventh of 11 in novice hurdle at Newbury (16.3f, good to soft) in March. Returns for his handicap debut tackling a new trip and should have more to offer for yard who are flying following a quiet spell.

Not disgraced after 2 years off on his yard debut when fourth of 10 at Kelso (22.7f, soft) and ran to a similar level when second of 8 in a handicap hurdle at Fakenham (20f, soft, 14/1) 10 days ago, shaping if he'd stay further. Place claims.

Below form when fifth of 13 in a handicap hurdle at Windsor (20f, good to soft, 33/1) 27 days ago. Yard going much better now though, and his last win came over C&D.

10-race maiden but showed more on penultimate start (blinkered) when fourth at Wexford in August (24f), ridden more positively. Not in same form next time (final run for Paul Nolan) and headgear off for stable debut but looks an interesting contender, especially if the market speaks in his favour.

Remains winless but much better on second start for this yard, finishing fourth of 13 in a handicap hurdle at Taunton (16.5f, good, 9/1) 30 days ago. Up in trip and he's likely to enjoy this greater test of stamina. Player.

Well held in 3 novice hurdles. Handicap debut saw him finish fourth of 10 over C&D (heavy) 52 days ago, seeming not to get home. Needs to step up on that effort but he has been given a break since and his stable is now in excellent form.

Three-time AW winner on the Flat but no real impact over hurdles. 66/1, tenth of 15 in a handicap hurdle at Hereford (16.2f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Lots to find on recent evidence.

Forecasts

Heart Of Rome (9/4), Dangerous Touch (9/2), Jukebox Joker (11/2), The Blueberry One (13/2), Mini Yeats (7/1), Our Dylan (10/1), Walkinthewoods (11/1), Korus (16/1), Siberian Star (25/1), Presenting Nelly (50/1), Grandmaster Flash (125/1)

Verdict

HEART OF ROME had some decent form in Ireland, notably when ridden positively, and similar tactics here could see him score on debut for Rebecca Curtis. There could be a couple of improvers lurking in this field, namely Dangerous Touch and The Blueberry One who both represent powerful yards and are unexposed tackling this trip for the first-time on handicap debut. The ultra-consistent Our Dylan deserves an honourable mention.
