13/2
Three-time winner over fences a couple of seasons back and there were again signs that he may be able to soon cash in on his falling mark when fourth in an 8-runner Doncaster handicap (20.5f, good to soft) last month. Down another 3 lb and he has to enter calculations.

10/1
Maiden hurdle winner for Peter Croke in Ireland a couple of seasons ago and wasn't disgraced in an Ascot handicap hurdle on debut for new connections last February. Again performed respectably back chasing on return at Bangor but followed that with a tame effort in a Uttoxeter handicap 18 days ago.

6/4
Notched third success over fences when decisively seeing off 10 rivals in a 2½m Ludlow handicap last time. Another personal best needed up 8 lb but he's clearly thriving and another bold show may well be on the way.

Successful twice in 2023 but now finds himself with a fair bit to prove having struggled all 3 starts since returning from a break October.

Hasn't won under Rules for quite some time but held form well off similar marks over hurdles last term. Second in a 3-runner point in November, so shouldn't be found wanting fitness-wise on this seasonal reappearance and and he's worth considering.

Showed improved form to notch a third victory over fences in 6-runner handicap at Stratford (22.6f, good) last spring. Wasn't disgraced on return at that same course in October and while he's failed to fire both subsequent starts, this 9-y-o will be a danger to all if on a going day.

8/1
Fair hurdles form and bettered his inauspicious chase debut when fourth of 9 back from a 7-month break at Windsor (20.2f, good to soft). Eased 3 lb since and this dual point winner is probably capable of better in this sphere.

4/1
Fair handicap hurdler/chaser who went agonisingly close to opening his account in this sphere on his penultimate start at Uttoxeter. Not so good when beaten around 11 lengths into third in the Ludlow handicap won by Moodofthemoment last month but he is at least now 9 lb better off with that rival.

Forecasts

Moodofthemoment (6/4), Zestful Hope (4/1), Bobhopeornohope (13/2), Longshanks (8/1), Golden De Coeur (8/1), Ostend (10/1), The Boola Boss (14/1), Gold Link (16/1)

Verdict

MOODOFTHEMOMENT did the job in good style at Ludlow and an 8 lb rise may not be enough to stop him from adding to his tally and making it 3-3 over this C&D. Next on the list is Golden de Coeur, who scored twice between the flags and is likely capable of progress in this sphere. Longshanks also makes some appeal, while Zestful Hope is entitled to finish closer to the selection than he did at Ludlow on these revised terms and Bobhopeornohope is lurking on a dangerous mark.
