Has taken his form up a notch since joining current yard, winning a pair of handicap hurdles at Perth (20.2f). Good effort when fourth of 9 at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) and ran with credit back down in grade at Ayr (20.5f, good to soft) last month. Can be competitive again off short break.

Debut bumper winner and looked to be going the right way over hurdles but below-par on final couple of starts for Alan King last season. Well-backed on debut for new yard but never involved. New connections quick to opt for wind surgery and first time tongue-tie, hood (previously worn) also returns.

Placed 3 times in maiden points and built on fourth of 12 on hurdles debut (16.6f) when producing a much improved effort to land a novice event at Southwell (15.8f, good) 32 days ago. Looked like a stayer in the making that day, and no surprise to see him up in trip today. One for the shortlist.

Off the mark in novice company at Musselburgh (19.8f) last December and has shaped with promise in handicaps (without winning) running better than the bare result when sixth at Carlisle (19.3f, soft) 27 days ago. On a fair enough mark and can go well if taking to first-time blinkers/tongue tie.

Dual winner over hurdles for Alan King. Back from 11 months off when unseating rider (looked to be coming to end of his tether) in November. Modest effort from out of the handicap when fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Carlisle (17f, soft) 27 days ago and yet to look like winning for current yard.

Modest point winner. Bettered hurdles debut effort when going close in a Cartmel novice (22.1f). Respectable fifth on handicap debut at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) in October and ran to similar level when up in trip when seventh of 10 at Haydock (24.3f) 24 days ago. Down in trip and cheekpieces on.

Thirteen runs since her last win in March 2023 and has slipped to a handy mark. Needed the run when last of 5 at Musselburgh (15.6f) 19 days ago and this trip will be more suitable. Has a better chance than her form figures might suggest and is entitled to run well if leaving comeback effort behind.

Forecasts

Fourofakind (3/1), Got Your Back (10/3), Lone Star (10/3), Achille Des Rocs (5/1), My Friend Yeats (6/1), Klitschko (12/1), Hourless (25/1)

Verdict

This could be the day for GOT YOUR BACK to get his head in front again, having showed up well for a long way at Carlisle last time, and he can capitalise on his falling handicap mark with Brian Hughes back aboard. Lone Star should strip fitter for her reappearance and could be dangerous while Fourofakind can be competitive at this level once again.
