Showed ability when fourth of 12 in a bumper at Kelso and probably needed the run starting out over hurdles here 8 months on.

Timeform
Well beaten in novice hurdles.
|
Timeform
Well beaten in 2 novice hurdles (tongue tied at Ayr latest).
|
Timeform
Point winner impressive when making his second start in bumpers a successful one at Wexford 3 weeks ago. Should have a decent future over jumps.
|
Timeform
Went with little immediate encouragement for bumpers at Haydock at the end of last year but bred to do better now jumping up in trip.
|
Timeform
Expensive as a store (out of Grade 1 winning mare) and improved when winning Doncaster bumper when last seen in February. Smashing looker sure to have a good future over jumps for new yard.
|
Timeform
Promising start in Hexham bumper in the spring, essentially beaten by lack of experience. Sold from Toby Lawes £35,000 in May and should make his mark over jumps like his brother, the fairly useful hurdler Bertie Blue.
|
Timeform
Point winner who was third in a 19f Cork bumper for John Gleeson and has shown a bit in a couple of novice hurdles in the North this autumn. Can do better when handicapping.
|
Timeform
From a jumping family and placed both starts in Irish points, runner-up latest (Jan 2024). One to consider on hurdles debut.
Timeform
Third sole start in point bumpers/runner-up sole start in points in early-2024.
Timeform
Cost a bit and every chance when fell last sole start in Irish points (Dec 2023). One to note on hurdling bow.

Forecasts

Ira Hayes (5/4), Monty Bodkin (11/4), Dazzlelikethis (6/1), Orkney Blue (7/1), Maggies Boy (14/1), Skuna Bay (16/1), Shadow Chaser (20/1), Alltalknoaction (33/1), Balking (66/1), Blue Plan (66/1), Gatsby Blue (100/1)

Verdict

IRA HAYES created a good impression when landing a bumper at Wexford recently and should have a good future over jumps. He gets the vote over the similarly promising Monty Bodkin, who won a Doncaster bumper for Ben Pauling when last seen in February. Orkney Blue also starts out for a new yard and boasts plenty of potential.
