Just touched off on chase debut here in January and again impressed with his jumping when landing a 5-runner handicap back at this course (16.4f, soft) next time. Bettered that with a decisive success at Kempton (2¼m, good to soft) when last seen in May and a 4 lb rise is by no means excessive.

Dual winner on good ground in 2022/23 and shaped well on several occasions in defeat last term. However, there was very little promise in his reappearance display at Chepstow where, on what was his first run following a fourth round of wind surgery, he checked out rather tamely.

Opened hurdles account at Fontwell last winter and, having found the company too hot in a Grade 3 Sandown handicap next time, he duly got back on track with a gutsy victory at Southwell (20.4f, good) in April. No reason to think he won't do well over fences, too, but this is a tough starting point.

THELASTHIGHKING failed to kick on following a positive start to last season but he is on a good mark if able to get back on track, a scenario which is certainly plausible given that he returns from a break with his yard going great guns. I'd Like To Know took very well to fences last season and is a much-respected main danger, while Twinjets remains capable of better in this sphere and Masaccio will be a threat if he adapts well to the larger obstacles.
